Our philosophy

In our many years of experience making web sites, we've observed that once a design has been approved for a site, it rarely ever changes - logos, colors, layout stay the same. And if these things do need to change, it is important to bring in a professional designer to make those changes. Content however is another matter and is usually what needs to be updated often to keep a web site updated and current. The Solution Media CMS was designed keeping that in mind. It is designed to save you money on content updates without having to worry about the layout of the site. After all, would you want your editors to accidently delete or overwrite your logo?

That said, here is a list of all the things the Solution Media CMS will do for you:

• manage your navigation - this is one of those areas that may well be set in stone depending on the design of your site - if your site is designed to be sensitive to the size and layout of each nav item, the CMS will protect your site from breaking if you try to edit your navigation - if that is the case, we will handle it professionally for you, and you can be assured that no change you make may adversely affect your site layout. But in most cases, site design is flexible enough to allow you to update the navigation yourself (add, change or delete) and in those cases the CMS will let you go ahead and do that.
• categorize your content - the Solution Media CMS will let you add levels of navigation to better categorize your data, edit or delete existing sub navigation. And you can sort your sub navigation categories however it suits you.
• format your content without knowing HTML - we give you the power of a standard word processing toolbar to format your content - bold, italic, underline, bulleted lists, indentations and much, much more.
• make your content more readable - have a lot of text to share but are worried about readibility and user attention span? Break it up into multiple pages (like pages of a book) - the Solution Media CMS automatically inserts "Prev-Next" links to guide your users through your content.
• create lists of items - you have content you'd like to present in a list format. No problem - the Solution Media CMS allows you to set up a list (you can even tell the software how many items you would like to display per page and it will automatically break up the content and generate links to batches of items). Link your items off the list page to a "detail" page where you can give your users more information about that item - or link them to an external site. Sort your list, edit remove items from your list.
• promotions, promotions, promotions - there's something new and exciting and important you want to share with your users when they visit your site. PROMOTE IT!! Have a new product you're trying to sell? The Solution Media CMS lets you set up a link to it from a "Promotional Area" on your home page. It draws your users' eye to it and pushes your merchandise - put in some teaser text, grab their attention and when they click the link, take them right to what you're trying to sell. You can have these "Promotional Areas" on as many pages as you like ... and you can have more than one on a page.
• publish your changes - when you use the CMS you work on our servers - once you are happy with the changes you have made and they have been reviewed and approved by all appropriate personnel, "publish" them to your web site. This way, you have the freedom to work in a protected area and your users don't see your changes till you are happy and satisfied with them.
